Missing photos...

Ahem... yes, sorry about that. I'm twiddling with some stuff in the background and appear to have inadvertently removed some photos while doing so.

I'll be replacing them shortly... bear with!

... and finally, something a bit different.

For my birthday I got my hands on a Spartan Games Firestorm Armada Terran Fleet Starter Box. My friend has the Directorate Starter Box.

Putting these models together was really quite simple, as the small Frigates are all white metal and just require some remedial filing work, and the Cruisers are all one-piece resin that just need some flash removal.

The longest model to sort was the Battleship as it comes in four resin parts and has white metal turret that require some super glue. The hardest part of putting these together was the flight-stands. Spartan Games - you really need to get a better design of flight stand!

Here you can see the Terran Starter Fleet, with the Razorthorne Battleship at the rear, the Sentinal class Cruisers in the middle and the Pligrim class Frigates on the flanks.

Terran Fleet
and here you see the Directorate Fleet with the Judgement class Battleship at the fore, with the Enforcer class Frigates behind it and to the flanks and the Vanquisher class Cruisers in the rear.

I've begun test painting a Terran Frigate; one undercoat of Chaos Black, a base-coat of Adeptus Battle-grey, a dry-brush of Astronomican Grey and a Badab Black wash later and here's what I have so far:

Terran Frigate
It just needs a bit of accent colouring and some details and I think it'll be done.

Tyranids: Units: HQ and Troops: Genestealer Broodlord

Another unit that I finished quite a while ago but never posted.

Originally destined to be the second HQ choice of the army before the newest codex removed the Broodlord from the HQ section and turned it into an upgrade to a Genestealer Troops unit, I now intend to use it as a normal Broodlord or as a counts-as Tyranid Alpha Warrior HQ choice.

Nova Storm: Units: Fast Attack: Space Marine Assault Squad with JumpPacks

Although this was completed quite a while ago, I never really mentioned it or uploaded any photos at the time.

This is the only Fast Attack choice in the whole army, and it took a while to get them built as I originally stole their legs for the Command Squad and had to source some more from eBay.

A five man Assault Squad with Jump Packs, providing a 12" jump move over intervening obstacles across the battleground. The squad has been modelled to appear so they are in the process of landing, running across the ground and jumping again. Some are descending, one is running with twin Hand-Flamers, and the two others are ascending again.

The twin Hand-Flamers count as a normal Flamer in-game since normal Marines have no access to proper Hand- Flamers, I just thought they looked cooler. They were made from various spare Flamer and Bolter parts before GW release the Blood Angels kits with the proper Hand-Flamers in!

Nova Storm Units: HQ Choice: Command Squad

It's been a long, long time coming - but finally I've completed the Space Marine Command Squad and now only have two (yes two!) Space Marine infantry models to paint up.

Then I can move to painting the vehicles.

Eldar Units: Troops Choices

Hey, I finally made it back to the blog!

Remember those Eldar I mentioned on the last post? Well here they are:

One Squad of Ulthwe Guardians with Warlock (Support Platform not pictured)

One Squad of Dire Avenger Aspect Warriors minus Exarch (as I've not yet painted it).

Random Hobby Update - Eldar Painting

Okay, so it's been a while since I did an update, and to be honest, I've not actually done much!

I've completed a couple of Marines from the Command Squad and have started on the next two. Other than that I've been doing some work on my friend's Eldar. He's accquired some stuff from Ebay that needed some remedial work in the way of fixing a Wave Serpent turret and re-undercoating, amongst other things.

Most recently I painted up his Eldar Guardian squad to a three-colours and done standard, with an accompanying Eldar Warlock to go with them. I've also made a start on batch painting his Dire Avenger squad too, and have some ideas for some basic freehand work on the Wave Serpent...

Pictures will follow soon, but they're nothing to get excited about.

As Christmas is approaching fast, I can't see myself getting much more done this year. Hopefully next year I can start to put stuff up on this site much more regularly.
